Athletics Today
Hi everyone, the weather forecast is not looking the best for this morning and it is quite wet and slippery. We have decided to call of the junior (year 1-3) children and go ahead with Year 4-6 at 11.30am, hoping to get it through in that hour. We will just run the main events of shot put, high jump, discus and sprints.

Our ERO Review
I know a lot of you will be wondering how our ERO review went, so I thought I'd post very briefly. We will not get the draft document through for a while but I am very pleased to report that they were beyond happy with us. They love our curriculum, love the way kindness is at the core of what we do and very positive about our early years programme. They were very complimentary about the staff and our children spoke incredibly well about their learning. They were impressed with the pride children display in their school the empathy they display towards one another and the way their needs are catered for. If you would like a better idea of what they are thinking for our report feel free to pop into the staff room and have a look at their brainstorm on our window. To say I am proud of our school is an understatement. It is absolutely fabulous to have the hard work of our staff, community and children validated! Well done guys!

Athletics Day - Next Wednesday
ATHLETICS DAY –
Wednesday 16th of November
Below is the expected schedule of the day.
Our
plan is to keep children out of the likely heat of the afternoon, therefore all
events will be run prior to lunchtime with children returning to class after
lunch.
9.00 Children will go to class as normal, the
roll will be taken. Children will then assemble on the court. The
children will be grouped in their year levels.
9.15
start
First
four events will run.
Approximate
time of morning tea is 10.30 (However this is dependent on the
length of time each event takes.)
10.30 – 11.10 – Morning Tea
Following
morning tea the final 3 events will run.
Lunchtime approximately 12.45
Children
will need to come along in appropriate clothing to run and jump in. They
will also need their hat, sunscreen and water. A jumper is also a good
idea just in case it is cold. It would be wonderful to see as many adults
as possible wearing hats as well.
Events
on this day will include shot put, discus, high jump, standing jump, hurdles,
sprints and fun relays. The emphasis of this day is for the children to
have fun through competition.
If
it is wet the event will be cancelled as we have no postponement date, a
decision will be made by 8.30am

A Walk Around Our School
It is amazing how children use each and every space in our school. We love the creativity they have and the way they work together. This truly is their place and their space.
Beautiful flowers!
Great to see our swan plants grow back, just in time for new butterfly visitors. We already have some new members of our school devouring these plants. They will soon be very fat caterpillars.
Growing, growing, growing!
The sandpit, turned into an amazing play space.
The huts around our school are amongst children's favourite places to be.
Amazing what can be done with a few old sheets :)
Mathematics Information Evening
Our next community information evening is around mathematics. It will cover how maths is taught and how you can help at home. It is likely to run for approximately an hour and will be led by our numeracy facilitator Dianne Ogle. This will be held on November the 23rd at 6pm in Room One. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer childcare for this meeting. Please use this form if you are able to attend, or come in and let the office know. There will also be a form in next weeks newsletter. We need at least ten families to go ahead with this evening. (Just a gentle reminder...if you rsvp we are counting on you attending.)
