Beach Picnic
Unfortunately we have decided to call this off tomorrow. The forecast is not great. Lunch orders will still be given out to children at school.
Hopefully we will be able to fit the beach picnic into Term 4.

Welcome back!
We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday the 2nd...bright eyed and bushy
tailed. School starts at 9am on Tuesday morning and we will be swimming from day one, so make sure children have their togs. Please make sure children come along with their stationery on day one so classes can get started straight away.

2016 is going to be another great year! This year we will have a strong emphasis on empathy and working further on the development of citizenship. Looking at what citizenship is and how everyone can work towards being a 'good citizen.'
We are particularly proud to be part of the KIVA anti-bullying programme. This programme focuses on the bystander, developing empathy for others and encouraging children to understand what bullying is and stand up against it. We feel it will be a great asset to our school and really fit well with our current programmes. We approached the organisers of this programme at the end of 2015 to be part of this fantastic programme. We will be the first school in Northland and only one of six in New Zealand running the programme. There is a significant cost to the school, but we feel it will be very worth it. More information can be found at http://www.kivaprogram.net/nz. We will be running an information evening later on in the term after key staff have finished their training. This is a community approach and we look forward to working with you to make school a happier place for everyone!
