Outdoor Classroom Day
This was held yesterday and was absolutely fantastic! Children came ready to play and entertain themselves for the whole day, which was awesome to see. We also had lots of help and managed to
get many of our environmental projects completed. We planted Manuka and Kanuka for the bees
(180 trees) . We planted other areas using our school compost, cleaned up the courtyard gardens and planted this area too. We were also able to get the playground bark down under the pole hut and
monkey bars. We are so grateful to those that were able to come and lend a hand. A special
Thank you to Crofts who funded the playground bark and the plants along with lending some
fabulous hard working labour on the day! We couldn’t have done this without you.
Year 2 Places
We still have a couple of places for out of zone Year 2 children in our school. If you know of anyone wanting to come to our school who has a Year 2 child but may be living out of zone, have them
contact us to discuss this.
Seesaw
You will have now received the second installment of your child’s cumulative report along with
information in maths, reading and writing achievement in Term 1 or 2. Please take the time to read
your child's Term 2 comment, click on a larger view if the report looks small on the screen and put a
like on the post when you have read it, just so we know you have seen it. If you would like to discuss this further with your child’s teacher please make an appointment early on in Term 3.
Returning To School Term 3
School starts back on the 26th of July. Please ensure children come to school with a change of clothes each day and their belongings named. We do not have enough clothes to be changing children and children are constantly coming down to the office expecting us to change them out of wet or dirty clothes.
We also ask that children are dropped at school on time each day and that they are picked up by 3.20pm as the bus comes at 3.15pm and the teacher should be able to go off duty at this time. If children are
not picked up by 3.20pm please be aware that children will be sent to the top of the school outside of after school care so they are not sitting unsupervised.
Please don’t make late pick ups a habit as just like you, we have busy afternoons that we need to get
on with.
