Athletics Day - This Wednesday
ATHLETICS DAY – Wednesday November 11th
Our Athletics day will be held on Wednesday the 11th of November.
Below is the expected schedule of the day.
Our plan is to keep children out of the likely heat of the afternoon, therefore all events will be run prior to lunchtime with children returning to class after lunch.
9.00 Children will go to class as normal, the roll will be taken. Children will then assemble on the court. The children will be grouped in their year levels.
9.15 start
First four events will run.
Approximate time of morning tea is 10.30 (However this is dependent on the length of time each event takes.)
10.30 – 11.10 – Morning Tea
Following morning tea the final 3 events will run.
Lunchtime approximately 12.45
Children will need to come along in appropriate clothing to run and jump in. They will also need their hat, sunscreen and water. A jumper is also a good idea just in case it is cold. It would be wonderful to see as many adults as possible wearing hats as well.
Events on this day will include shot put, discus, high jump, standing jump, hurdles, sprints and fun relays. The emphasis of this day is for the children to have fun through competition.
If it is wet the event will be cancelled, a decision will be made by 8.30am
