End of Term Wrap Up

End Of Term Wrap Up

Reports

These will be coming out on seesaw this week.  Please read these in conjunction with the other curriculum reports your child's teacher has provided on seesaw over the year so far.  While these reports don’t look like much, they take a lot of effort, both in assessments to determine progress and in the writing of them.  Writing a class set of these takes time and energy, so please take the time to read them.  Below are the descriptors you will see on your child's report.  These are currently in draft and it is expected another descriptor will be added before the end of the year.

We will hold parent teacher interviews on the 31st of July.  You will have the opportunity to book a time when we return for Term 3.

End Of Term Awards

This will be held at 2.10pm under the canopy on Friday.  We will have class awards and then announce the overall good citizen of the term.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Lost Property

This is overflowing and will be out on the turf until the end of day on Friday.  Nothing we have been doing has helped to get on top of this situation, so we encourage you to find ways to make your child responsible for their own belongings.  This will all be donated to charity if not claimed.

Pizza Day

This is tomorrow.  If your child has ordered, you don’t need to pack lunch.

Chocolate Fundraiser

If you are keen to sell more chocolates feel free to come and collect another box.  If you have money that has not been returned yet, please get it before Friday 9am so we can count and bank it.  You are welcome to pay online to the school account, just mark the payment with your name.

Strategic Planning Survey

Matariki is a great time to think about the future.  The Board of Trustees are currently creating the 2026-2028 strategic plan and need your voice.  We are asking two simple questions about your aspirations for your child’s emotional, social and academic wellbeing that you think should be a focus for us as a school.  We promise this is a quick survey and we would love as many voices as we can get.

Plastic Waste

We have become really disappointed with the amount of plastic waste floating around our school.  As a zero waste school we aim to reduce waste as much as possible.  As a staff we have decided to do some learning around plastic during the first couple of weeks back in Term three.  We will have a particular focus on lunchbox waste and ways that this rubbish can be reduced.

Cross Country

The 13th of August will be our school cross country, it is a great idea to start some training now so that children can complete this comfortably.

Empty Classroom Day

We had a great day today.  The weather has been fantastic and it was great to see the smiles on everyone's faces.  Play is so incredibly valuable for children and we love celebrating play in this way.  Learning does not just happen in the classroom and the learning that happens on days like this is invaluable. Play is magic and our oldest children need this just as much as our youngest ones.

Thank you all for your support this term.
